An afternoon at the Picchetti Winery in Cupertino
February 8, 2009Yesterday was one of those very seldom Saturdays when I have an absolutely FREE day….I was planning on spending the entire day catching up on paper work but I’m glad that I decided to step away from my computer for it was an absolutely gorgeous day.
I went to visit the Picchetti Winery in Cupertino, one of the oldest wineries in California. I invited my good friend Laurent to come with me because I know he can help me sort through the long list of wines….Laurent is a web designer specializing in e-commerce but he also works at the Vintage Bar at Santana Row on Fridays…so I know I’m in good hands. We started the wine taste with a Viognier and ended with a glass of a Sangiovese…what we had in between, I cannot remember…only that they are all good to me… :) Also, the staff there are very nice, friendly and helpful making it a much more relaxing day for me.
I’d love to come and visit Picchetti Winery again…this time with a picnic blanket, some bread, cheese and pate…and a good bottle of wine ofcourse. And not to forget, some good old pair of hiking boots for they have some lovely hiking trails nearby….and oh I’ll have to come back with the right type of lens so that I can get a good image of the peacock that they have in the premises.
